The match happens to be the 2nd of 3 matches in the group stages, and the first of the day, with hundreds of spirit-filled supporters cheering on the indomitable lions. Cameroon, Ethiopia, Cape Verde and Burkina Faso are in group A with 3 matches each to be played. Ethiopia, apart from today’s loss to Cameroon also lost to Cape Verde in their first match.

Algeria and Sierra Leone in Group E also had a goalless draw, while the Elephants of Ivory Coast pulled 1 goal against Equatorial Guinea. And in Group F, Mali scored a goal against the north African country of Tunisia, and Gambia won against Mauritania with a goal on Wednesday, 12th January, 2022
